Tara Raam, Ph.D.
Welcome to NEU C64! I'm excited to be teaching this course this summer. I'm a Lecturer and Project Scientist here at UC Berkeley, where I study how the brain coordinates the dynamics of social groups. I use experimental approaches and machine learning to understand how animals sense, respond to, and are shaped by others around them. I also teach multiple courses in the Neuroscience department, including NEU C61: Brain, Mind and Behavior, and I'm passionate about developing thoughtful approaches to AI use for teaching and learning science. Outside the lab and classroom, I enjoy hiking, running, finding good coffee, and spending time with my son.
Marley Loveman-Brown
Marley Loveman-Brown is a concurrent Master of Social Welfare and Master of Public Health (MSW/MPH) student at UC Berkeley, specializing in Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health. Her academic journey at Cal began during her undergraduate years, where she graduated with High Honors in Cognitive Science. Now in her graduate pursuits, Marley focuses on bridging clinical social work frameworks with structural public health approaches to address health equity and family well-being. Beyond her own studies, she has a strong background in teaching and mentorship at UC Berkeley, having previously served as a GSI, Reader, and Tutor within the Department of Psychology. When she isn't in the classroom, leading discussion sections, or working on community-based projects, Marley is an avid outdoor enthusiast. She loves taking advantage of California's natural landscapes and spends her free time surfing, hiking, and riding horses.
